$50,000 of Interior Damage

This solar company caused over $50,000 in interior damages by installing on this roof. Luckily we were able to assist the homeowner and solar company to get these interior damages covered by the homeowner’s insurance, however it was a tough fight. The insurance company’s argument (which was valid) was that the solar company had the opportunity to inspect the roof. The homeowner paid out of pocket for the new roof which they could have very likely pushed the solar company to be liable for that expense, the solar company had to eat the cost of the solar removal and reinstallation, and insurance paid for the interior damages. This was a lucky situation because in most cases, a homeowner’s insurance policy does not cover workmanship and would push this back to the solar installer.
